Eligibility
The American Board of Phlebology Certification Exam is open to licensed physicians who meet rigorous prerequisite qualifications.
The Board does not sanction the term "board eligible." Acceptance for examination is determined after formal application and acknowledges only that the candidate has successfully fulfilled the requirements. It does not certify that he or she is a specialist in phlebology.
Applicants must send a completed application form along with all fees and required supporting documentation before eligibility will be determined. Notification of eligibility to sit for the exam will not be provided by telephone, fax or electronic transmission (e-mail). Applicants will be notified of eligibility to sit for the exam via an official letter from the ABPh office. Please allow at least three weeks for notification.
Physicians who wish to sit for the examination must:
- Submit a completed application form, including required information and fees
- Fulfill prerequisite minimum standards of phlebology involvement
- Meet professional standing requirements
- Verify understanding and agree to the policies of the ABPh
- Certify that the information on the foregoing application is true and complete
